Miley Cyrus Is 'Disappointed' That Liam Hemsworth Filed For Divorce

Miley Cyrus was not expecting Liam Hemsworth to file for divorce so soon after their split, as per PEOPLE.

Insiders close to the pop superstar, 26, told the celebrity gossip outlet that she didn't expect her estranged husband, 29, to officially end their marriage. "She didn’t expect it and is a bit disappointed, but she is still doing well and has obviously moved on as well," the insider explained. According to the documents, Hemsworth cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the stars' divorce. The former couple signed a prenup before they wed in December 2018, so next steps should be easy.

While she is seemingly focused on her and her bond with Brody Jenner's ex Kaitlynn Carter, Cyrus has no regrets and is simply reminiscing on the good times with Hemsworth. "What she and Liam had for a long time was very special," the insider continued. "It’s just hard for her to think that she will never have this again with Liam. There are really so many things that she loves about him."

As you know, Cyrus and Hemsworth prompted shock in early August when the former's rep announced that the two had separated after seven months of marriage. Shortly after, photos of the pop titan kissing Carter surfaced. While Cyrus shared introspective take on the split and a breakup track titled "Slide Away," Hemsworth has been direct with his feelings on the matter.

In related news, Cyrus will perform at this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September alongside a lineup of superstar artists. Fans across the country can tune in and watch an exclusive live stream of the show via The CW App and CWTV.com. Then, on October 2nd and 3rd, relive all of the epic performances from the weekend during a televised special on The CW Network at 8pm ET/PT. And leading up to the official television special, The CW will also air an hour-long Best Of Special on Sunday, September 29th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
