'P.S. I Love You' Is Getting A Long Overdue Sequel

The hit 2007 romantic comedy “P.S. I Love You” featuring Hilary Swank is finally getting a sequel!

Variety reported on Tuesday that the highly anticipated follow-up novel, written by author Cecelia Ahern, is titled “Postscript,” and is set to be adapted into a sequel. Both Alcon Entertainment and Black Label Media will co-produce and co-finance the motion picture.

Alcon Entertainment also produced the movie based on Ahern’s book “P.S. I Love You," which originally starred Swank as the widow Holly Kennedy. “P.S. I Love You” was released back in 2007 and was an immediate success at the box offices, taking home $53 million on $156 million worldwide.

“Postscript” is set to pick up Holly’s story seven years after her husband’s death, when Holly’s sister asks her to tell the story of “P.S. I Love You” letters on her podcast.

The original film stars: Gerard Butler, Lisa Kudrow, Kathy Bates, Gina Gershon, Harry Connick Jr., and Jeffrey Dean Morgan alongside Hilary Swank.

The film's expected release date has not yet been announced.
