With another week of very hot temperatures, Los Angeles county has announced some cooling centers where you can go cool off and bring your pets.

-- Colonel Washington Park Gym - 8908 S. Maie Avenue, Los Angeles, 90002
-- El Cariso Park Gym - 13100 Hubbard Street, Sylmar, 91342
-- Adventure Park Gym - 10130 S. Gunn Avenue, Whittier, 90605
-- Jackie Robinson Park Gym - 8773 E. Avenue R, Littlerock, 93543
The centers are open to pet owners from 10am to 5pm. Pet owners will have access to the use of cages and kennels to keep their pets while at the cooling center. Pets should be current on vaccinations and in the care of their owners.

Here are some tips: Avoid the sun, drink plenty of fluids, replace salt and minerals, avoid alcohol, pace yourself, wear appropriate clothing, stay cool indoors during peak hours, monitor those at high risk, use sunscreen and keep your pets indoors.
