Let's meet our adoptable pets of the week!

Cat of the Week: Brenton
3-month-old, longhair black male kitten

Baby Brenton came into the shelter in early September as an 8-week old stray kitten. It appeared that the dear little guy had been burned! His hair was singed and his tail was in a sad state of disarray and needed to be amputated.

We named him Brenton, meaning "dweller near the burnt land." He went to a foster home to gain strength for his tail amputation, which went very well. He now has an adorable little stub tail and a handsome, soft black coat. He is growing fast and is finally learning how to play like a kitten!

He recently developed a fascination with adoring himself in the mirror and he loves his playdates with the shelter's other foster kittens. In other words, we think he'd love to have a feline sibling or two in his new forever home.

Brenton is one of the piggiest little foster kittens we've ever met. He loves his food and he loves his people! In fact, he is just chomping at the bit to meet his new forever family. He knows they are out there somewhere and he can't wait to join them!

Could you be the special one to give Brenton a new lease on life? He's ready and waiting for hugs and kisses at his foster home. Just ask for "Brenton" at the Front Desk and they'll set up a meet and greet.

Dog of the Week: Tyson
5 year old, tan & white, shepherd/mix

Tyson is part of the Lycoming County SPCA's Fantasy Furball promotion on Team Dogs at their tight end. And the way he is with a ball, he's a great member to add to your team!

Tyson came to the SCPA back in July from a pretty tough situation. Like most shepherds, he is a true guarder from food to people. But as time went on, his personality started to shine. He loves to be outside, is curious about things, and openly seeks attention. Once you get toys out, he runs and plays and entertains himself. He's made strides in obedience; he knows sit, shake, and other paw.

We do feel that since his guarding is so high, and he had to fight for everything before, that he needs to be placed as an only pet in a home that has experience with shepherds.

Tyson just celebrated his 5th birthday at the SPCA and we think the best birthday present would be a forever home! Tyson's available for a good game of fetch in kennel 62.
