Heat Is The Story This Week!

FROM CBS 21 METEOROLOGIST STEVE KNIGHT

SUNNY MONDAY:

It will start to feel a bit more humid with afternoon highs in the upper 80s.

HOTTER TOMORROW:

Tomorrow will be the start of our next heat wave with temperatures climbing into the low 90s.

WEATHER WARN DAYS FOR DANGEROUS HEAT:

It will get much hotter in the *Wednesday to Saturday* timeframe with highs in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. The heat index during this time will approach 105+ degrees. Overnight temperatures will offer little to no relief as lows only dip into the middle and upper 70s. The heat will likely break down slightly on the 4th of July, but it still looks very hot for the holiday with the chance for a few thunderstorms.

This is dangerous heat! Now is the time to make sure your air conditioning is in working order. Make sure to keep a close eye on the elderly and young for heat-related stress. Make sure your pets always have access to fresh water in conditions like this.

Rain chances will continue to look pretty slim during this time, but we can't rule out a few isolated storms mid to late week.

CBS 21 FIRST WARNING WEATHER FORECAST:

Today: Mostly Sunny: High 88

Tonight: Partly Cloudy: Low 66

Tomorrow: Mostly Sunny, Hot and Humid: High 90

Wednesday: Mostly Sunny, Chance of a Thunderstorm.. Hot and Humid: High 98
