Ryan Seacrest connected with a Pfizer vaccine trial volunteer named April on-air on Friday, November 20. April shared she comes from a medical family and wanted to participate to βhelp for the greater good.β
Pfizer is preparing to apply for an emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration for its coronavirus vaccine. The drug company said that the final analysis from their Phase 3 Clinical trial found that the vaccine is 95% effective and has no serious side effects.
βYou get two doses three weeks apart,β April shared with Seacrest. βNow, keep in mind, everybodyβs immune response is going to be different. β¦ For me, with the first dose, I pretty much just had 5 days of fatigue. I just felt really, really tried for about 5 days and it went away.β
That said, April added it was βintense.β
βMy second dose, about 13 hours after the injection, I got a fever and chills,β she added. βJust really bad body aches and it lasted 36 hours. β¦ But some people donβt have the same response. β¦ Itβs kind of the same when you get a flu shot. β¦ Itβs all about how your body reacts.β
